Jerez has a wide array of restaurants serving local cuisine, many of which are within walking distance of the apartment. Here are a few of my favourite places to eat.
Calle Consistorio, Plaza de la yierba 16, 11403, Jerez de la Frontera
🚶 12 mins
Located in the heart of Jerez this restaurants offers traditional Andalusian cuisine combined with innovative contemporary techniques. It has a large outdoor terrace and has excellent service.
Recommended dish : Rabo de toro estofado (Bull tail stew)
Calle Pescadería Vieja, 8, 10, 11403 Jerez de la Frontera
strong>🚶 14 mins
Located just off the Plaza del Arenal in perhaps one of Jerez's most beautiful streets, Bar Juanito is a tapas bar offering traditional Andalusian cuisine. The narrow side street is beautifully decorated and illuminated creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere great for outdoor dining. This is a great place to eat and the food is reasonably priced.
Recommended dish : Carrillada de ternera guisada (pork cheek stew)
Calle Remedios 2, 11403 Jerez de la Frontera
🚶 13 mins
Tucked away in a side street in the heart of Jerez, Mesón del Asador specialises in tapas and grilled meats. The portion sizes here are very generous, for most people two tapas dishes would be probably be enough (I've made the mistake of ordering three and not been able to finish!) Prices are reasonable and they have both indoor and outdoor seating.
Recommended dish : Although they have a plethora of grilled meats and tapas dishes, before you choose one of those a nice dish to share as a starter is the Tabla de patatas 4 salsas which is basically a plate of fried potato slices with 4 dipping sauces. The spicy sauce is my personal favourite!
